Can you name other fairy tales where someone has to destroy something in order to save it?
In the story of Peter and the White Cat, a prince is asked by a cat to cut off its head. He doesn’t want to, but does so because she tells him to do it. When her head is chopped off, she turns into a princess and is saved from a curse. Are there other fairy tales where someone has to destroy someone or something in order to save them? If so, which ones? Thanks!

That story always upset me as a kid. If I had been the prince I would have said no and walked away. I guess I would have lost out.
