The book is super-barbie-girly, both in terms of illustrations and the texts. Every single story reads silly, simplistic, dry and boring. The stories are basically the same familiar old good fairy tales, but somehow the details are altered to make them “morally correct,” and, as sideeffects, become very silly girlish.

I remember having this book as a child, and loving the beautiful pictures and some of the stories. However, I purchased this book again to read to my daughter and was surprised that most of the stories have the main character triumphing through trickery and deceit. I hadn’t remembered that! I probably won’t read many of these stories to my daughter. In my humble opinion, Louisa May Alcott’s Flower Fables is a better choice for children’s impressionable and developing minds.

The reading is great in this book but the book size is too large. It won’t fit in my book shelf. A new version should be printed to a smaller book.
