Pink Fairies Walk Don’t Run

Their version with some lyrics of the 1960 Ventures tune. From the Pinks 1972 album “What A bunch of Sweeties”. Starts off with some pictures and then some video (which I have unashamedly stolen from Youtube) and which also “gets silly” according to the wife Well it keeps me off the streets.

Thanks for the memories.

Ha Ha…mine ended up in the 2nd hand section of my local record shop…I wanted to like it, but…..

Big up Walton on Thames! Chertsey boy here. Used to play for Walton + Hersham rugby team when I was 12. I was shit so I started on guitar instead. Best decision ever.

Absolument génial ! merci

Don’t forget to boogie & up the Pinks.

Loved this song but the l.p. was quite a comedown from their masterpiece “NEVER NEVER LAND ” I’m a yank that grew up on all the British bands. These guy’s helped form my musical direction. In fact my 80’s power metal band “THE BEAST” used to do a great cover of “THE SNAKE in our live shows.

tocando guitarra con un palito de onda, !que tiempos aquellos! los Pink faires quizás lo hacían cuando niños con Los Ventures

I actually went and bought this album when I was about 14…. From WH Smiths in Walton-on Thames… (when they used to have a music dept)

Played it a few times, and took it back and swapped it for Mott The Hoople!

What a wonderful wonderful song. Was it not Paul Rudolph on lead guitar? And the drumming…ooh eck missus….anarchic and beautiful. Anarchy not always +ve though. I went to a P Fairies gig at Kensington Town Hall c 1974 and the band did not show up !!

‘Walk Don’t Run’ is to the Fairies, as much as ‘Summertime Blues’ was to Blue Cheer…
