The Cottingley Fairies - The Proof That The Photos Captured Fairies.

This video offers proof from the daughter of Frances Griffiths, one of the the two girls who took the famous Cottingley Fairy pictures in the 1920’s. The interview came about on the BBC Antiques Road show in the UK. I believe in fairies, don’t you?

@Genesimmons8 If someone were to honestly tell me that the 5th photo (the fairy bath) was real, well, I’d let them to it. Seriously. My interest in folklore is purely literary and for kicks, but if someone insists they saw a fairy of believe in gnomes, I refuse to tear them to pieces out of some misplaced sense of superiority. Fuck that. Also Saint Nicholas is dead…save your anti-Santa rhetoric for children this coming december. Now THERE’S some lost souls in need of enlightenment huh? ;)

@noirkitten I’ve got news for you, people that are commenting on this video really do believe in fairies and in the Cottingley photograph. I’m also betting they also believe in ufo’s, bigfoot, and Nessie. Most of the posts here are from people that think the 5th photo is real so it goes well beyond enjoying fairy-folk stories. I hope Santa brings you more philiosophy, biology and history books this year.

@Genesimmons8 I know such pursuits as imaginative story-telling and wonderment are beyond the super serious Dawkins-loving scientific obsessed minds, but surely irony isn’t? The green fairy is an affectionate name for absinthe, which I often drink on a Friday. I enjoy absinthe, like I enjoy literature, philiosophy, biology, history….AND fairy-tale’s/folk stories. I doubt anyone REALLY believes in fairies. It’s no different than a Star Wars fan. I pity those who sacrifice their child side.

@Genesimmons8 A. I’m a secularist. Totally. B. if you think that ‘belief’ (more like interest in) fairies is comparable to religious belief (Who gives a shit about people’s religious beliefs anyway, not to mention many strands of paganism hold belief in fairies) then you need to stop worrying so much. It’s not comparable. As for getting my joy and wonder from the world, interesting people have something called an IMAGINATION, which can conjure many things OUTSIDE of the real world. It’s fun.

@noirkitten ” I’m quite fond of a particular Green Fairy who visits me each Friday night. ” I see you have romanticised the idea of the fairy and changed it to suit your vision of what they are probably based on Disney movies. According to fairy lore, they are to be feared because they stole babies caused trouble and disliked humans. Why is yours different from centuries and centuries of fairy stories? It is because you are influenced by media that told you what a fairy should be.

@noirkitten Why don’t you get your “joy and wonder” from the world as it really is. Yes, humans will always dream, but when that dream turns into fact is where Dark age thinking becomes a reality. It’s not a big leap to go from fairy belief to religious belief. Try taking a look at the world as close to reality as you can get and you will find it’s much more interesting.

@Genesimmons8 Sorry dude. I find your reasoning highly paranoid. So, a few isolated individuals child-like belief in fairies will lead to acceptance of Dark Age thinking? I’d harldy compare it to say Islam’s rapidly growing conquest. It IS innocent, and far from producing any negative social side effect. I feel pity for the fundemental atheists who wish to erase the joys of wonder from our society, not because it pains them, but because they’ll never succeed. Human nature will always dream.

I’d hardly call any of this ‘garbage’ as some have. Shame upon those who wish to have a touch of innocence and wonder remain in their souls as they trudge along this bitter path of 21st century life? Is it so bad? Besides, I know for a FACT fairies exist. I’m quite fond of a particular Green Fairy who visits me each Friday night.

@dragonsidheblader1 The video is there for balanced people to make up their own minds.

@ghostcircle

Saying they are not is not going to make the photos real. Sorry!

@dragonsidheblader1 Your points are irreelevant as you argument. Go find some film to debunk…

@dragonsidheblader1 The record states that 4 were fake, and he didn’t pick it up. In his opinion there were a double exposure..You weren’t there and the expert was not there either. Francis and Elsie were there and left a verbal account with their family. They are the real witnesses, not you. How do you know faires are not transparaent and look like double exposures. You are not an expert. There were others who saw fairies in cottingley forest, more witnesses.This video is a witness statement.

@ghostcircle

Whatever, indeed…..this hoax was exposed decades ago. Anyone can say “these points have been discounted.” Prove it.

@ghostcircle

WRONG! Elsie herself said the 5th photo was fake just like the other ones. Brian Coe of Kodak NEVER said that that all 5 photos were double exposures; he said only the 5th one was…which he proved by examining the negative. Quit making up garbage.

i saw a leprechaun get bite by a racoon

yes I do and always will.

@strandgelight ” So what if? people belive in faries, who get hurt by it? ” There is indeed harm in belief, whether were discussing something as broad as world religions to something as small as a Tarot reading. The reason is Ignorance, logical inconsistencies and arbitrary guidelines lead to acceptance of Dark Ages reasoning.

@Genesimmons8 I didnt say that I belive in the faries, i dont. And belive me i have critical thinking, but i can get really pisst when people talk down to others becous they dont share their point of view on the world. So what if people belive in faries, who get hurt by it? And i,m sorry for my outrage, it wasent meant to attack you. And i dont follow famus peoples citat, i follow my own :D

@strandgelight I stand by what I said. Grown adults that believe in leprechauns, trolls, the tooth fairy etc are simple minded. I suggest you take up some critical thinking and explore more natural explanations before you start thanking Santa Clause for your Christmas presents. “To follow by faith alone is to follow blindly” - Benjamin Franklin.

@Genesimmons8 you are such an aaaaaaaaas! Who the hell are you to judge people? simple minded? So you are the ultimate truth speaker, the things you belive in are the right truth, nothing outside of it exist? I suggest you study some culturale sience, then you will learn that the world is build up of many different point of views!!!!!!

But a sitting girl at 7:05 the right side looks really a real girl….!!!!

@dragonsidheblader1 — Do your research, he mentioned only four photos which were faked. —
He concluded that they were “double exposures” albeit faked on four of them, whereas they were in fact “single exposures”. So much for his opinion and your research.

Whatever!! These points have been discounted already.

This is hilarious. Some people so desperately want to believe in this garbage. Elsie Wright said the 5th photo is FAKE just like the other four. Case closed. Not to mention that Brian Coe of Kodak proved the fifth photo was a double exposure (you can even see a duplication of the two of the cut-outs) by examining the negatives. Both Elsie and Frances claimed to have taken the 5th photo….because they both did! Hence the double exposure.

Wow! I’ve heard Frances speak in interviews, and the daughter sounds just like her!
