That’s true. I never considered that. Are you implying you are John?
John maybe a regular You Tube viewer though ! :-)
John is the master. This is the definitive version of this tune which is my favorite tune of all time. Penduluus, it is in the “fiddler’s fake book,” but, I recorded it off the the Dubliner’s CD with a small recorder that let’s me slow it down. I’ve spent years learing it note by note. I never do that. I hate ripping off artists but, since I’m in Cleveland Ohio, USA, I doubt John knows I exist so I think I can get away with it:)
this is just great…i love irish folkmusic….
Where can I get sheet music for theis song??

In the past 6 yrs, justice ministers have signed close to 8,500 deportation orders fewer than 2,500 of these have ended in repatriation.

I see that Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew are both in the search tags for this video. Where’s the mention of the man of the hour? Someone had best put John Sheahan in there, show some respect! The man doesn’t even get credited in his own solo…

i bought this on a EP in 1966. i think, mostly Barney. makes me old, but still good to listen to.
the way he plays is the old version, there is a different and new way to play it. I’m learning it on the fiddle, but this way is beautiful as well.
Beautifully played :-o
